Great story, awesome wife, and sweet boat.
Most rooftop carry failures involve the rack breaking loose from the car. This is true even for factory racks on SUVs. I always run an extra strap over the whole rig and through the door openings. It does not affect the door seals even in heavy rain, and gives me some extra peace of mind that I don't get from bow and stern straps. -Wes
