Thanks a bunch Glen, looks like I have to buy another specialty tool. And of course to get my moneys' worth, will have to build another canoe! In 40 years of woodworking I've not needed to route such a tight spot.

I had been to John Michne's Wee Lassie build but missed the rest of his site. It really is nicely done. I should mention that Ross does give John credit for the tip; I just didn't follow the lead.
