I'm looking ahead a couple of projects, but I'm going to be building a tripping boat soonish. I pack lightly. All of my gear is super-light and small. I'm looking at the Guillemot Expedition Single or the Thommason Designs Njord. A review of either kayak from an owner or someone who has paddled them at least a bit would be good. There aren't many Njords around, I don't think, so I don't think that there would be many people who have paddled both, but it would be best if someone has spent time in both kayaks and could comment.

So let's take capacity off the table- My concerns are speed, handling in general, and handling in difficult conditions. Either/both would be equipped with a really big skeg, so tracking is not much of an issue in comparison to turning.

I know at least some of you have built a North Star- can you comment on a North Star for comparison to either of these kayaks?
