Automotive clear works fine, not real easy to use since it has no color it's hard to see what's painted and what's not. Good lights make all the difference since you can see the sheen of the wet clear vs. the dry unpainted sections.

Like all sprayed surfaces it tends to orange peel, so for a really perfect finish it needs to be color sanded and polished when it's done.
