: I actually used shrink wrap on my first SOF. It was a good
: temporary skin but had two drawbacks.
: The first was that the material is not very flexible when you are
: applying it prior to shrinking, getting good seams takes some
: patience. The second problem was that while in the water the
: boat was fine. On land I had to be careful where I put it down
: because if a sharp rock or piece of gravel hit on a rib, a small
: leak would develop. By time I cut off the shrink wrap, there
: were lots of tape patches.

: It did conform to the shape well and I used it for most of the
: summer until I had time to put on a Dacron skin.
