Is it glued lap? or is it traditioal rivets or clinch nails? Many have been built with the stripper method but not the case here.
It is ok to add butt blocks at cracks in planks to hold them together if you don't want to replace too many planks.
This type of building needs to swell up and bailing is expected the first hours out.
