I'm looking for some suggestions from experienced builders and kayakers.
I've built Jay's Outer Island twice; the second time adjusting the length to 17', increased the rocker, lowered the back deck a touch, increased the bow and stern angles, increased the volume of the front deck and went to a keyhole cockpit. The adjusted kayak has the speed of a NDK explorer, turns just as fast, is more stable (the secondary is great) and rolls easier (so I sold the explorer). I'm about 6'3 and 175 LBs wet and clothed.
I have owned or paddled the Nordkapp: Classic, Jubilee and H2O and the Nordkapp LV. The H2O fit the best but the paddler really needs to be 210 LBs. The LV is pretty much designed for my weight but a height of 5'10.
Any suggestions on a kayak design that preforms with the speed, glide and wave performance of the Nordkapp, rolls nicely with a lower back deck (the H20 left bruises after rolling) for a taller thinner paddler?
Thank you
