He'll Jay, you are talking to an Irishman here. We virtually live underwater. But you are right. It is criminal to leave a good instrument in a black case in the sun for instance. I think anyone who has an idea what goes into building something (all of us on this forum certainly) tend to appreciate and look after quality artefacts of any sort. Sometimes, of course, what one thinks is best is not necessarily so. You make a good observation re humidity. One might naturally assume that a wooden instrument should be kept as dry as possible and be doing all the wrong things for the right reasons in an effort to protect it.

Do you have any pics of your guitars? I have seen some homemade guitars on various luthier sites that are just outrageously beautiful. So much so that it is almost demoralising looking at them and thinking, why bother, perfection has been attained, rather like Mike Truetwin's Auk.
