I like the thermarest pad. Let it fill with air, then sit on it in place, then crack the valve and slowly let the air out until your bum bones are just touching the seat, then close valve. Mmmm comfort. Once adjusted it is right for reuse without adjustment.
I use it on top of my closed cell seat for real comfort if I am out for a long haul. The advantage is that if you get it right you get the padding without adding height.
I prefer the pomegranate
