My Thought is "It is not,absolutely, needed".But it would be nice to have, to see how not needed it really is!Skegs are good for truing up a surfing boat,or bringing it back towards a leecocking boat from a weathercocking one.The Firestar is already a very straight forward boat.No uncollable broaching,in the waves I've been on,just power her up and catch the next one,if you can.cheers from Paul NZ.
