The general idea I believe is to use wood glue between the strips and on the outside of the riser you put a dab of hot glue or CA glue to tack it in place and continue going around the cockpit ( I did my riser this way in two days), then you gently sand the inside and fiberglass it making it good and strong. I sanded both sides and glassed them at once. Then move on to the ring around the riser...
