Each board is costing me about $80 or $90.

Am I reading that right?
My last build I used 4"X4"X10' cedar post @ 16.40 dollars each. I rip the 4X4 into 4-1X4 then into strips. That yields 46 or 48 strips per post. I also scarf my strips on the forms except for the first shear strip.
The posts are #2 cedar but the salesman lets me serch for clear lumber. That is becouse I bring by what I build for him to see and he feels he is part of the project.
I will thank my lucky stars tonight for the deal I seem to be getting.
