Those valley knobs are fine, but I didn't want to have the rod and the wire. Not necessary to have both really.

I figure there is not much that can go wrong with the cable cover that can't be repaired with a joiner if necessary, so I just roughed the plastic up where it passes throughout the epoxy and timber bits to stop it pulling out. It would need a hard pull with pliers to extract it, may even break before coming out. I am trying to keep it as simple as possible and this is as simple as it gets.
