: Just a little update on my SOF sailing canoe - now named the
: "Olympia," after a friend's kid (and the warship, of
: course!).
: It sails!
: Just super, in fact. I've had it out twice. Once in light air and,
: the first time, in screaming heavy (and highly shifty) air. In
: light air she's amazingly responsive, even with just the una
: rig. In heavy air, I only had a borrowed 20sq ft lugsail - but I
: still got her up on a plane for about 5 seconds!
: I've learned that I need to scarf an extra foot or so onto the
: bottom of the mast, as I'm too old to duck that low under the
: boom anymore. More sail testing to come, hopefully in some
: medium air. I've got high hopes, and am encouraged, so far.
: Dave
: Here she is, on a reach in light air. Any more wind and I could
: have gotten out on the hiking board, instead of kneeling on the
: back deck.
Cool, how's the sliding seat working?
How much swimming?
