: On the deck most of us seem to put in a couple of strips to define
: the sheer and then run the rest straight down the length. To my
: taste, wider strips down the deck look better.
I am working on the Guillemot and starting on the hull, there seem to be some significant compound curves on the bow and stern areas. that is why I was asking about the thinner strips. I was reading through the paperwork that I got with the plans, an addendum to Nick's book and it suggests maybe using a japanese pull saw and split the thicker strips down a part of the length that will take on the compound curve.
I'll have to see how it goes. I hope to start stripping the hull tomorrow.
