Thanks for the info and I have been following Dan Caouette's website and Facebook posts so far. Nice that I have access to the White Pearl you built for John M for tactile purposes.

Curious about the little notches on Rod's photo http://www.orcaboats.ca/photopost/data/555/thumbs/adaptedforsheer.jpg must be for an inner strip going full length, first time I have seen this notch.

My reason for buying the book is in part because I realized I don't know what all the parts are called, embarrassed but it never seemed to matter until now. I couldn't make heads or tails out of the Yost site and managed to build a Sea Rider, I just don't want to muff this up as I cannot afford to put in the time and money and then be stuck in my Ellesmere.

I realized I can have a hand roll and expand my skills in a Tahe Greenland T but my size won't allow me to fit the OC, the custom Black Pearl should be a good fit.
