Sounds like I may have to try it one of these days. Wrapping the deck glass onto the sheer could make a nice easter-egg type joint.

Like I said I do it the other way: sheer first and glue the planks to it. At first it looks like a SOF with really light gunwales. Having the sheer clamp there really helps the stripping on the ends. It give you tons of area to glue to and really strengthens the ends. When it's time for the deck stripping, I plane the sheer clamp and hull planks even with the form, tape off them off and start stripping the deck. The deck is trimmed oversized so for mating it just pops on top of the hull with room for adjustment. Like Et, the main exterior deck reinforcement is put on after mating, wrapping it down the sides. Unlike Et, I do put on a very light glass layer to hold things together while I work on the inside.
