: So I brought my lumber home for the strips and it turns out the
: thickness of the board was 1 1/16" thick. I went ahead and
: cut them into 3/16th thick strips. after milling the B&C, they
: came out to about 1 inch exactly. It was going to be tough to
: make the compound bends on the bow and stern. I took a japanese
: pull saw and split the strip for about the first two feet, to
: the second form. This allows me to bend it in separate steps.
: Hitting it with the heat gun makes it bend nicely. then gluing
: the second part of the split to the first, locks it all into
: place once it dries.
This is a great contribution for a novice like myself. Thank you
Douglas
