I would like to say that I've seen the new Outback rack, the ones with the side rails that pivot and clip in across the car.
Let's just say that I'm very pleased to have bought a 2011 Forester, and added a Yakima rack to it.
From what I've heard, people are getting pretty annoyed at Subaru for this idiotic design. Sure doesn't look as strong as past Subaru racks (or my Forester's.)
I've been selling Yakima and Thule racks for over 15 years, and I've seen car manufacturers get on board and beef things up, and now I've seen them head the other way.
