I installed the Yakima "tracks" on the roof of my 2007 Honda Ridgeline right after I bought it so I could easily remove the racks when not in use. I even painted the tracks to match my truck. Installation was easy using the "plus nuts" mounting system Yakima provided. Drilling the holes in the roof of a brand new truck was a bit unnerving but gave good results in the end. I have had zero issues with this system and it takes only a minute or so to put on or take off the racks.

I say "go for it"... And, I seriously doubt that the value of my truck was diminished.
