Of course, if you're going for lightest possible weight, as I am a freak about doing, then there's no such thing as "the weight added is negligible". Also, another poster says that with stems you don't have to do as big an end pour. I got a better idea -- how about no end pours at all, ever? Carved cedar blocks instead, for me, thankyouverymuch.

I'm with Rob on this one.
