: Glueing up the pieces wrapped around the stems and held by clamps I
: can visualize but after the glue dries and clamps removed. How
: does the inner stems stay in place?
: Tapering and stripping seems awkward when the inner stems are not
: secured to anything.

Hello all,
The material I used was 4"x 1/8"x 10 ft. Actually 3 ply, Ash on both sides and very easily bent. It worked well on the coaming of my kayak and
I reinforced it with carbon fiber tape on the outside of the riser down to about 1/2" on the deck all the way around the riser.
bought this at Southern Lumber about 10 yrs ago 5 of them for possible future use.

I will never use this all in my lifetime. If any forum members would like to see a piece I will send you a piece to examine.
