Hi All,
Thanks for the history lesson Nick, and the update on other manufacurers of commercial cedar strip boats. At $7800 US I doubt Oldtown will be gearing up for massive sales. But it helps to understand our current designs better when you look at cedar strip's historical roots. And I should know by now that when I have flashes of insight about modifying some of these older techniques for new builds that someone on this website has already done it- like Tom Yost and 'ancient kayaker.' But that sort of haphazard chunky-pieces-of-wood look that Old Town and now Ottawa Paddle Shack have got in their new cedar strips kinda appeals to me... mmm
