: Small batches, 4 pumps each epoxy and hardener - mix approx. 90
: seconds and immediately into the flat pan.
: Everything was 80 degrees. I have wood fired outdoor boiler that
: heats the shop. I set everything on the copper pipes and it
: stays at a constant 80 degrees.
: The wet out seems OK, no visible cloth, no grey areas, just
: textured. I don't know what to do differently. I won't be using
: epoxy again until after Christmas so I have until then to think
: about it.
: I hope you all have a Merry Christmas, get all the kayak materials
: you need and don't have to return anything :))

I'd be really careful heating the pan that the resin is poured into, or the need for the pan in the first place. Good to have the resin at the shop temperature and the shop heated up, but a heated pan will speed the setting of the resin, which is what I suspect happened, the resin was starting to set up too soon and started the thicken.
Generally the only time you want to pour resin into another pan is to cool it to prevent it from starting to harden too quickly in hot weather.
