Another method is to use a laser line to paint a station line cross the hull and photograph it from dead ahead or dead astern. Include a ruler in the pic for scaling and something straight - like a stretched cord - to serve as a baseline. The stations can then printed at, say half-size with mirror images and scaled up on a Xerox.

If you have offsets and want closer spaced stations you can import the offsets into FreeShip which will create a reasonably fair hull, a few adjustments and specify where you want the stations to be and FreeShip will generate them automatically. If you have Carene, another free hull design application, it wil generate offsets as a text file that FreeShip will import, which will give you the format, as that can be a bear to get right.
