I'm having my first kit delivered to me in a couple of weeks. It is a Laughing Loon design, the Georgian Bay model. I like the color of the red cedar, but would like to throw in some white to offset. I ordered it with 80% red, 20% white strips. Is this a good ratio for a white deck around the coaming?
Since this is my first foray into this type of thing, I was wondering what the best way to plan out the deck design would be? Is it just trial & error, throw it on and see, if you don't like it, take it off?
Also, although I have ample time off of work to build this (several weeks at a time). However, I do need to leave for extended periods of time. I'll be building it in my garage in coastal South Carolina. Do you recommend getting a dehumidifier and keeping it running while I am away to prevent anything from warping out of place or anything?
Thank you much guys
