I generally like to work down on the boat, but having it too low is hard on the back. I use the same strongback and generally it sits on either stands or low saw horses that are around 18" tall. I'm 6' btw, but I've done several classes that have used the same setup and no one seemed to have a problem with that height. I'm at work right now so can't go measure the stands, email me if you'd like a more exact measurement.
