Argggh!! Frustration.

Should I get 4 oz glass to wrap edges and my cockpit coaming?

I just tried to wrap the edge of a hatch with the 1.5" bias tape. It kept popping up. I even wrapped it with saran wrap -- half cured soon as I removed the saran wrap it popped up. I think this tape is good only for straight runs, like hull-deck seams, and spiral wrapping . Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I don't think so.

My reference to popping-up is the tendency when folded longitudinally, to unfold itself.

I have 6 oz glass on my surfaces, compared to the bias tape (which I don't have a weight for) pops up less. As wrapping the edges of hatches is understandably optional, would 4 oz glass wrap and stay down better? Thinner glass? or an I doing something wrong?

I just had the thought to do a Nick Video spoof--soothing jazz playing, while I 'deftly' perform some kayak building process. If it was glassing the deck, I'd quickly wet it out, and tap tap tap with the brush to lay down the wrinkles--all 'Nick like'. Within seconds I'd wind up struggling on the floor with the saturated 'glass wrapped around my head. Or I'd be chasing bubbles glassing inside the hull (actually this wouldn't be a spoof, but a documentary. If there's a Dookie-Smutz Award, how about a maximum bubbles contest?? ). Epoxy may be why I no longer find the 3 Stooges as funny as I used to. Does anyone else burst into tears watching Larry Mo and Curly as painters?
