If you scale all the dimensions by 0.92 then the volume and displacement are changed by the CUBE of that scale:

0.92 for the width X 0.92 for the height X 0.92 for the length = 0.7787

Your 250# displacement just became about 195#.

It would be 230 if you only scaled one dimension (ie length).

Scaling can work. Just remember to take the three dimensions into account.
