Thanks for the help I really did not think about the weight capacity with gear. it looks like there are 3 models of the Cayuga 110 130 and 146 in lengts 10' 13' and 14' for a beginner is a shorter or longer boat better? Is there a huge noticablr difference in handling a 10' compared to 14'? How important is getting a ruter for controll or is it just better to learn how to use the paddle?
Hi,
: Stick to a 1-person kayak. Using a tandem for extra storage might
: sound good on paper but paddling/carrying/steering a tandem by
: yourself will be a real pain. Old Town have been around a long
: time and while I haven't paddled a Cayuga 110 I'm confident it
: won't be a dud.
: Max. capacity is 250lb so that'll only leave you with 30lb for
: gear, just check that'll be enough 'coz the max. capacities
: quoted by makers are often optimistic.
: Regards,
: Phil.
