Hi Stefan,

I've had poor results using water born finishes on boats. I tried rustoleum water based paint on one SOF (not for waterproofing) and it took something like 15 coats to get near any coverage. Most oil based finished do the same thing in a couple coats. Many have use various oil based varnishes with good results oil based paint too.
