I looked at a used pop-up camper a few months ago and the owner had mounted racks on the camper top. He had a Yakima setup with long bars and had bicycle and kayak mounts on it. I didn't buy the camper but thought it was an interesting way to carry bikes and yaks. However, the downside is that unless you are camping right next to where you are launching, how do you carry the yaks to the put-in? Seemed like you would still need roof racks...
