Hi Dan, I agree with Bill on both issues, +1 for "Captains" varnish I tried the "Epiphanies" and was not happy with application,The only down with "Captains" is it turns gold then amber with age(like me). Follow Nick's book and don't worry about the first 3 coats they are for practice so wet sand them almost off
