Glass on the inside is more important than on the outside, you may need to split the boat and do it right if you want to use this thing safely. A small bump on a rock could split the strips and flood the boat without glass on the inside!!!!
Get Nick's first book if you don't already have it, it has some great info on where the strengths of these things come from.
