I know how delicate my stripped kayak was before glassing the wood.

Any chance of a photo? I can't figure out how the builder joined the hull and deck if not with glass. And without glass to reinforce key elements like the coaming? let alone the cockpit

I'd be nervous about getting into a boat like that, never mind paddling salt water. There is practically zero strength in the joins between strips. The smallest dent would compromise the epoxy and expose the wood (and glue ... Hopefully not pva!) to water

But if it were plywood ...
