I tried ripping some old boards I had with limited success, so I bought a saw guide that I plan on giving it another go here soon.

I am torn between Balistic Nylon and PVC... from skinboats.org I can get a whole Nylon kit with the stuff I need, but the dying proceedure looks to be a complete pain in the... the pros is that its tuff, sewable, and it streatches. The cons is it seems dying is the only option for colour.
PVC I can get at tarps are us in NB, thanks for that info btw, the colour selecton is good, but its quite expensive and since its not a folder I don't really need it....
Is there a paint that can stick to the coated Nylon?
Has anyone used the earth pigments used to colour the final urathane coat on the Nylon? does it work well?
Do I realy need a 200$ heat cutter/sear cutter for Nylon... is there a cheaper alternative? like a soldering iron or a small butane torche?
