I test a spot on the kayak to see if its varnish or epoxy on the hull... paint stripper never fizzed it at all, nothing. Ok now is there a simple test to see if its epoxy or resin ? Can you epoxy over resin ? Should I have NOT sanded it down to the wood ? Would I have got a stronger finished by glassing over the epoxy or resin, which ever is on it? I was told by the guy I got it off of that it was epoxy. He was the second owner of a kayak that was won in a raffle, whats the chance ? :)
