This brings up a point of kayak design I have long wondered about. Are the elevators/diving planes placed inboard or outboard of the bow/stern thrusters?

Thrusters are a great idea as they obviously make mute the rudder, skeg or neither one controversy.

And doesn't "diving plane" sound ominous, like down is the only vertical direction accommodated. If I were a submariner I would prefer they were called "surfacing planes".
