I used pumps for my first boat and then they clogged. I threw them away and have used a homemade balance for the last three boats. I have never had a bad batch using the balance and I will never use pumps again. Bulding the balance took about 15 minutes and some scrap wood and wire. The resin and hardener both go into the same container and I can mix whatever volume I wish. The design was described here on the forum in 2008. The description was on the contributer's web-site and doesn't seem to be available anymore however others have described similar balances for example: http://www.duckworksmagazine.com/05/articles/scale/index.cfm
Once the principle is clear you can set it up in a variety of ways.
