: We are dropping a 100-ft. redwood tree at one of my home rehab
: projects and planning to have it milled on site to rough sizes.
: I'm assuming that once everything is rendered into 1x and 2x and
: 4x chunks that milling strips on the tablesaw can commence more
: or less immediately, as once everything is in strips, they'll
: dry out pretty quickly without misbehaving much as to shape,
: checking etc.. Am I wrong? Should I find a place to sticker the
: large pieces and then come back in a year? Thinking about
: getting the OI going this summer and planning to get a few
: 20-footers for the project, as I prefer to work with full-length
: strips.
: Thanks in advance,

Whatever you do with it, consider that you will get quarter sawn strips from plain sawn planks.
I would get one inch plain sawn planks, cut enough strips for the rush project, and dry the rest in plank form for a year in a stack with the planks separated by sticks.
I always paint the plank ends with a bituminous or waterproof paint to reduce splitting. It also helps if you split wide planks at the radial point to reduce cupping as they dry.
All stuff you probably know anyway.
