: Anybody have experience with the Bomar Deck Plates (see image
: below)? I'm trying to decide between the Beckson pry-outs and
: the Bomar.
: Any suggestions/comments are greatly appreciated.

I have a few different deck plates in my collection here- all uninstalled in boats, just sitting on the shelf.
Beckson pry outs - pretty easy to pop open with just a 'rap' from the underside.
Sea-Lect/SeaDog pry outs with lever handle- the lever on these removes the need for a webbing loop. They are a bit harder to open with pressure from the underside (with the lever down) than the Becksons.
Bomar- the 'handle' is a true lock mechanism- the lid will NOT open unless the handle is flipped up and turned 90 deg.
So, if you are worried about the lid popping open, the Bomar would be the most secure.
BTW, with a flexible deck (and/or hull) and a big wave, I don't think a bleeder hole in a bulkhead will make much difference in whether the lid will pop.
The Sea-Lect is a nice clean design.
