I remembered that I have a curved scraper on a handle in the back of one of my drawers. Which added a few inces to my reach. Then, I found a polypro pool noodle with a center hole, a 2" length slips over a 1 1/8" diameter closet rod dowel. Then I hot glued some 100 grit sandpaper around the noodle. Worked pretty well.
