I'm pretty 'cheap' by inclination- if I can build it myself, I don't like to buy, and I enjoy improvising.
I'm retired, so my time is my own, and I can value it as I want.
That said, at some point I do 'draw the line'.
Spending a few (tens or hundreds of) dollars more to build something that my widow can sell at the 'big auction sale' seems worthwhile.
Once the whole 'Viking funeral' thing has been dealt with.....
;-)
