The comments above did prompt me to actually find out what '100% solids' means. Google search led me to the wonderfully retro website of Budget Bob which cleared that up;

Another read through the Wikipedia entry for epoxy;

"There are hundreds of ways that these formulators can modify epoxies—by adding mineral fillers (talc, silica, alumina, etc.), by adding flexibilizers, viscosity reducers, colorants, thickeners, accelerators, adhesion promoters, etc.. "

. . . so I guess these floor paints may have flexibilizers (?!) and fillers that reduce the adhesion to the wood and the fabric and leave the result slightly pliable. Giving a tough finish to a floor but not good for the overall strength of a laminate.

I agree with the idea of building something good enough for the final yard sale. These things will out live us and need to have enough residual worth for someone to take them on. Unlike;
