: The water Dancing designs look great and are roomy /fast from what im told by paddlers that have built them.

I wanted to build a water dancing boat but Don up in Canada was not selling any kits into the us market (insurance thing I think) anyway I went with a merganser 17W that I ordered direct from Eric (parts were cut at CLC) Im pretty happy with my merganser Im doing a SOF boat soon.

the merganser is (for me) a nice all around boat but I wouldnt take it on a long trip Id opt for a roomier boat. the merganser is a great handling boat, carves turns very nice,, recovers easy , a little shy on the foot room (im a size 12) the 18W may be a bit better.

the merganser tracks well But I added a retractable Skeg to help with high winds and currents (im glad I installed one) .

the cheasies are dated there are nicer designs now that dont need nails.

I do like the Water dancing boats I just looked on the website and no metion of NOT selling into the USA , two years ago It was right on the home page??? ,

one thing with stitch and Glue is GLUE GLUE GLUE GLUE and GLUE your always mixing epoxy almost every step!!! I find it to be the messiest build type. I built a strip canoe years ago and though it was a bit more of a touchy/feely type of construction it was way less mess, and I could stop almost any time I wanted.

S&G is faster But way messier.
