Been a long time since I buillt and painted a wood boat but I would just buy a good quality oil base porch and deck enamel and leave the marine paint for boats that sit in the water and sun all the time.

Years ago when I restored this one I painted it with Rustoleum. It stayed in a boat house on a lift and it looked good for many years.
