Hello all,
I took out my deck staples and did planing and initial 80 grit sanding. I got a real kick out of wetting this thing down and seeing the true colors of what I've created. I swear after the first wet down I stood there in awe and stared at it for like 20+ minutes only thinking "I made that" :) Then it dried and I just had to wet it down again when my wife got home to show her what I've been doing.
It was very satisfying to see the color come out of the wood to say the least... Is there a point where I can wet the kayak down to many times? Can this effect the glue or the wood or bugger anything else up? I can see myself going through this (probably more than once) after each grit of sanding.
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic..
