One caveat: as an experiment I have been storing my small latex-painted sailboat outside Summer/Winter without protection for the last three years (Canadian weather - cold Winters and Hot Summers). This last winter was a warm and wet one and the marine ply bottom recently delaminated. Obviously not a good batch of ply; equally obviously house latex is not a good protection against the weather. One coat sealer, two primer, two top coats. I'll replace the bottom ply and cover it in future . . .
