Thanks, it's turning out all right for a "guess I'll make a paddle" moment :)
The cool thing about it is the hollow shaft. It's light as a feather, very straight, and seems quite strong yet flexible. Of course I haven't whacked it against a tree or anything... Still need to carve out a handle..

Just regular Tight bond 2 glue. My plan was to put some thickened epoxy around that joint and perhaps even glass over the whole blade/shaft joint.
If I do it again I'd make the blade strips thicker. They're leftover from my kayak project only 1/4" thick. Seems kind of flimsy?
