Re. scrapers, I have used a bunch of different types, and the best by far is a firm rubber one that I got from a plastics/composites supply place. The edge is rounder and perhaps a bit softer than the thin plastic ones, and works better on the glass. I definitely recommend against using the milk jug scrapers to smooth epoxied glass. The slightest roughness will catch the fibers in your glass, and once they are dragged out of position, they are more or less impossible to put back. Also, the thin plastic will not allow you to use adequate pressure to ensure that the glass is properly smoothed to the wood surface.

I recommend that you don't try to do your glass application at anything lower than 70F, and warmer is better, maybe much better, depending on how your ecopoxy behaves. As I recall, I did mine closer to 80F and everything went well with the MAS I was using. The epoxy will not wet out the glass transparently if the temperature is too cold, and you may also have more problems with bubbles.
